Any Stalin or Lenin statues left around? Was Kirov a ballet dancer, and was Lenin a mushroom? What is a factory kitchen? Hammers and sickles are still decorating many St. Petersburg's facades, and the remains of the puzzling Soviet-era mentality still greatly influence everyday lives of Russians.
Learn about the fascinating intrigue that surrounded the throne of the Red Tzars. Page through the history of a great nation, from the glorius days of the Revolution, through the Civil War and the Stalin's repressions, to the Cold War as seen from this side of the Atlantic, and finally the Stagnation, the Perestroyka and the collapse of the USSR in 1991.
We understand that people joining this tour come with rather varying level of knowledge on the subject. Our guides do their best to adjust the narration to your interests - active participation on your part is expected! The theme is too broad to be covered entirely anyway, so we can always concentrate on a particular aspect or episode of the Communist History.
Public transport fees are not included. The tour may involve several metro and bus rides.
