Happy pub crawlers with Mike (right) doing the guiding

Dostoyevsky Pub Crawl

'He longed for a drink of cold beer... He sat down at a sticky little table in a dark and dirty corner; ordered some beer, and eagerly drank off the first glassful. At once he felt easier; and his thoughts became clear.'

                     Fyodor M. Dostoyevsky
Crime and Punishment

Availability: Currently this tour is available by private booking only - see bottom of page.
Duration: 4 hours.

Our two guides, Mike and Peter, survived weeks of exhausting research to produce this fine pub crawl. The result is a tour which has a great literary aspect, but most importantly the social one - statistically over half of the takers have never read Crime and Punishment!

Whatever your reasons for joing the walk, be guaranteed heaps of fun exploring the less visible side of the drinking scene of St. Petersburg. Much of Crime and Punishment takes place in bars, seedy and cheap - we'll follow in the footsteps of its characters to discover that nothing has changed since one and a half centuries ago.

And, as always, it all comes down to the guiding!

The murder route is the walk between the house of Raskolnikov and the Pawn Broker's place in the Crime and Punishment. We re-enact the walk (without the murder in the end though) and stop at a few places for a shot or two.

Guided by Peter, Nick, Dmitri or Alexander.

To book this tour privately, please write us at, or ask your guide. The cost is 4800 rubles, covering up to eight people (600 rubles for each extra person).
