Dostoyevsky, Rasputin, Lenin — famous St Petersburg residents, a walking tour
Availability: Currently this tour is available by private booking only. Inquire at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Duration: 4 hours.
Cost: 10200 roubles*. This covers up to eight people (1275 rubles for for each extra person).
*Russian ruble collapsed again on April 9, 2018, making it difficult to predict its behaviour (and its value) for the dates later in the season. We reserve the right to amend our prices in accordance with the fluctuating exchange rate. Hopefully this stops soon and returns to normal. Please contact us by email for up-to-date price information. As a guideline, a 4-hr private tour costs an equivalent of 160 USD.
These bearded Russian celebrities all lived in the same general area around Hay Market at some point during their lives. Rasputin, a peasant mystic who grew more powerful than the Tsar; Lenin, a young socialist with grand plans in the 1890s; the writer Dostoyevsky whose Crime and Punishment tops any list of world’s greatest literature. Stroll between their addresses learning about their lives and taking in the atmosphere of the Hay Market, the liveliest of the historical neighbourhoods of St Petersburg. Possible visit to genuine Lenin’s apartment, a (sporadically) functioning off-beat museum. The walk can be customised to focus on any one of these characters in greater detail.
