Where to stay
Life Hostel, http://hostel-life.ru/en/. Top location on the corner of Nevsky and Vladimirsky, comfortable rooms and all possible comforts you could expect from a hostel. Wi-fi and computers, huge kitchen and common area, super clean, great management – attention to detail more typical of a good hotel than a backpacker’s accommodation. We love the place so much that we’ve moved all our scheduled tour departures to this hostel.
Soul Kitchen Hostel, http://soulkitchenhostel.com/. The brightest young thing on St Petersburg hostelling scene, all a hostel should be – clean, bright, attracting great crowd, with a fitted kitchen and a cosy living room, plus vodka and pancake evenings and much more. Most importantly the owners are seriously determined that their guests have a good time. A stone’s throw from Moscow Station too.
